Windsurfing @ the Wall

wallsized.jpg

I love the Wall. It has the smoothest steepest swell on the river. Today may not have been the most wind I have ever sailed in, nor the biggest swell, but man it was one of the most fun days windsufing ever.

Big air and looong swell rides were the order of the day. I swear I must have ridden 1/2 a mile on one swell (at least it felt that way!). Turning, jybing, slashing time after time. Then a few reaches upwind to do it all again...

Update: I just added a flash movie with some more pics from the Wall. Click here if you want to see it.

Barry,

Great stuff, the PJ Harvey tune, is it from the CD "Is this Desire" called "The Wind?" If not, which CD/song - love it!

Thanks,
Oniels

Yep, you are right. Don't tell PJ - I forgot to ask her permission!

I really like that song too. I listened to it a lot when the CD came out; as soon as I saw the slide show I knew it was the song I wanted.

Some lyrics:

Catherine liked high places
High up on the hills
A place for making noises
Noises like the Whales
...
A place where she could rest and
A place where she could wash
and listen to the wind blow

-------------------------------

Catherine would like the Wall, don't you think?
